Q: Why are soft skills like communication and leadership so important in accounting?

Because we don’t want to work with robots. We want to use AI and robots to be more efficient, but we don’t want to work alongside them. I don’t want you to be robotic with me—I want to be able to relate, grab a coffee with you, and know you can have a conversation with a client without seeming mundane. Those soft skills build and maintain relationships.

And honestly, I call them power skills. Recruiters might only look at your resume for 30 seconds, but what they do remember is your handshake, your smile, your story, your presence. Those impressions last way longer than what’s on paper.
