👨🏻Name:

Omar R., CPA

💼 Title:

PwC Trust Solutions Director (⬅️ What does this mean? They help maintain assurance and transparency within the healthcare industry.)

📍Location:

Texas

As a father of four kids, I want to leave this world a better place than how I found it. As a CPA specialized in assurance and accounting for sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting, I am able to help companies focus on the most impactful actions that drive positive change. Accounting can empower you to support causes you care deeply about by equipping you with the skills to question, assess, and communicate the impact, risks, and opportunities relevant to an organization. You can help identify real opportunities for improvement and drive change within organizations. Accounting also offers opportunities to work with diverse stakeholders to collectively address global challenges.

👨🏻Name:

Huw L

💼 Title:

PwC Trust Solutions Director (⬅️ What does this mean? They help maintain assurance and transparency within the healthcare industry.)

📍Location:

California

Recently, I led an initiative to replace the plants in the PwC San Francisco office with native California plants. This passion project aimed to not only beautify the surroundings but also attract more insects and wildlife, ultimately promoting biodiversity. Building on this success, my next step is to collaborate with neighboring offices to encourage similar conversions and greening projects. I am grateful that my workplace recognizes the importance of these initiatives and gives protected time for us to engage in passion projects that we care about. As accountants, we are able to actively respond to the significant trends impacting climate, inequality, and biodiversity. Through this career path, we can continue to drive positive change and create a brighter future for our planet.

If you're the first to hop on Depop to find second hand clothes or an advocate for using public transportation, then accounting just might be the perfect career for your sustainability loving heart.
